Everything we do as an organization and as a community is guided by our PW Purpose, and that includes ministry, resources and relationships.
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves
to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
to support the mission of the church worldwide,
to work for justice and peace, and
to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
Anyone who supports the Purpose in any way is participating in Presbyterian Women. So even if you’re just learning about Presbyterian Women, there’s a good chance you’re already supporting Presbyterian Women—in spirit or in action! Won’t you consider joining us in person?
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN UPDATE
Since September, Peace Circle has been meeting in Memorial Parlor at 10:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Peace Circle meets for Bible study, mission, and fellowship. We are studying “Celebrating Sabbath, Accepting God’s Gift of Rest and Delight” by Carol M. Bechtel. All women in the congregation are invited to come anytime to a meeting. For more information, contact Janet Reickel or Sherry Brown.
Thank You Everyone:
Thank you to all of you who made donations to the PW Thank Offering in November. We received a total of $720.00. Thank you for your generosity!
We need to thank Charles Miller, too, for the wonderful program he did about the Sanctuary’s organ for the women and men who attended our Fall Gathering on Saturday, November 12. Everyone enjoyed the program very much and we all had plenty to eat for lunch after. A big thank you goes out to the women who made the delicious salads and desserts!
Thank you, also, to all the women, and some of their husbands, who helped put up the
Christmas decorations after worship on Sunday, November 27. We very much appreciated everyone’s help.
The PW Coordinating Team met on December 6. Since PW was able to hold their Christmas Cookie and Candy Sale to benefit The Second Mile Center of Detroit this year, they voted to make a year-end donation to the Hunger Ministries Program of the Presbytery of Detroit in the amount of $500.00.
2022-2023 Bible Study:
This year, we are studying “Celebrating Sabbath: Accepting God’s Gift of Rest and Delight”. We will consider Sabbath as it is found in passages from Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Matthew, Luke, and Acts. Study guides are available for $10.00. Please contact Mary Boudreau if you need one.
2022-2023 PW Calendar:
Sunday, January 8 11:30 a.m. Take down Christmas decorations after Worship
Saturday, May 13 11:00 a.m. Spring Gathering
We will continue to keep you informed of our events and activities through the Sunday bulletin, Messenger, and PW bulletin board in Weir Foyer.
All Cherry Hill women are invited to join us!
